Heya! I'm Jarno Blankestijn. I'm a 3D generalist working across modelling, texturing, shading, environment work and Unreal Engine for films, series and commercials. Alongside that I build web projects, write scripts and tools, and maintain my own PC systems and homelab server.
I'm self-taught in most of what I do, and I learn best by doing. Whether it's a shader, a frontend build, a Python script to automate something repetitive, or getting a service running on my homelab, I like to figure out how things work and make them production-ready.
Outside of work I spend as much time outdoors as I can. I ride horses and have done for years, probably my favourite thing in the world. Being around animals and nature is how I reset. It probably explains why I gravitate towards building worlds that feel alive.
An all-in-one Discord bot built with JavaScript and Node.js. Complete with a web dashboard, backend server, scaling infrastructure and long-term maintenance. Full-stack from API integration and Discord API through to frontend HTML and CSS.
At Planet X and for my own workflows I build lightweight tools to automate the repetitive parts. File processing, pipeline helpers, renaming scripts and small task-specific utilities in Python and JavaScript.
Built from scratch using HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript. Includes a multi-language toggle, filterable project grid, project modal, lightbox, print-ready CV and a custom data pipeline. Designed and built end to end.
A self-hosted home server I build and maintain for running local applications and acting as a network file server. An ongoing project for learning self-hosting, networking and system administration.
